Training and puppets

This has been a pretty exciting week on a number of fronts. The only downside is that I'm pretty tired. I woke up yesterday feeling slow, stiff, and sleepy.
But after a strong cup of coffee and a visit from the fox I felt good enough for a little training. I found a nice little jump combo and then Eric and I worked on strides. You're practicing your strides too, right?
Not my finest performance, but moving always feels great:
After training, Anna and I went to Islands Unknown, this year's summer production from the Paperhand Puppet Intervention. Check them out here.
The show was incredible. Unfortunately, last night was the last show in Chapel Hill, but they are playing in Raleigh at the NC Museum of Art on September 10th and 11th. Check it out if you can.
The themes of the show - the pursuit of knowledge, harmony with nature, the dangers of greed and materialism - ring true and need to be spoken, but I particularly admired how PPI presented them. The entire show was a riot of imagination and magic. This has to be the way such important messages are delivered to children (and adults). Judging by the number of "ooohs" and "aaaaahs" we heard, a great many kids in the audience will remember this show and its themes for a long time to come.
If you get a chance, do yourself a big favor and check out Paperhand Puppet Intervention.

I echo the comments about the Paperhand Show - it was spectacular. I will say, though, your training video music is lulling me to sleep...
Nice little series work in the video Colin! And I can't comment on the music, since my sound is turned off for the moment... Keep up with the MovNat!
Anna, I will make up for it by using some Rage Against the Machine or Glitch Mob next time :)
Paperhand is incredible. I got to be in one of their parades one time (carrying the Green Man puppet!) and it was pretty much the coolest thing ever.
