Notes and neurons

My friend Brendan just forwarded me this:
What a great lesson - the combination of movement and music can be such a powerful teaching tool. I don't know about you, but I wish this was how all subjects were taught...
This merits a larger conversation. What do people think?

That was fantastic! I was grinning from ear to ear. That NEVER happened in science class.
I know, right?
I defy anyone to watch this and not join in.
Thanks for the comment Elly!
yo man! yes, rhythm is central to us as organisms...the rhythm of our heartbeats, of the flow of blood through our veins, of our breathing, and our circadian "clocks".......which are tied to the rhythms of the sun rising and setting, the moon and its pull upon our bodies, the rhythms of the seasons and the rise and fall of environmental factors like pollens, foods, moisture...the rhythms of the tides, and the other life-forms around us...
it's all rhythm, and we express our physiology through rhythm we make...we call it "emotion" or "music."
it is sometimes put to use as a training tool, to help focus the mind
sometimes just for fun
