Private training, Athletic development, & Functional Movement Screening

Fifth Ape offers a variety of private instruction options. Private sessions allow for greater individual focus and customized programming as well as athletic development, Functional Movement Screenings (FMS) and personalized corrective exercise prescriptions. When you're ready, you can book your session online.

Private Training: If you have specific goals and/or want to make rapid progress, private sessions are for you! We can discuss your particular needs and build a customized program to accomplish your goals. Whether you're trying to learn some Parkour, prepare for a Tough Mudder, get an edge for your next triathalon, learn a little self-defense, or just look and feel better, we can get you there.

Bring your family/friends!  Buy a private training session and bring up to 3 friends/family members with you! This is a great option for families looking to learn together or friends looking to split the cost while still enjoying customized programming and (semi) private instruction. Combine this with a package deal mentioned below and things get really affordable - A 4 session package split between 4 people comes out to under $14/person/hour!

Athletic Development and FMS: We've all heard the statistics around skyrocketing obesity rates and diseases of civilization, but there is a parallel "silent epidemic": dramatic increases in athletic injuries, especially in youth sports. In recent years, sports doctors, coaches, parents, and too many young athletes have been struggling with a new phenomenon - crippling knee, shoulder, ankle, and other problems that can end an athletic career before it even begins. The news is especially dire for girls, who are 5-8x more likely to suffer from ACL tears than their male counterparts. Older recreational athletes haven't been spared either. Recent studies suggest that up to 66% of all runners get hurt every year and 70% of those injuries will recur.

We can help. Using a combination of Functional Movement Screenings, corrective exercise, and natural movement patterning, we build durable athletes. We ensure all of our clients have a solid foundation of mobility/stability and vital athletic skills (starting, stopping, cutting, jumping, landing, etc.) upon which sport specific skills can be built. We draw on proven techniques, the best new exercise science we can find, as well as our own unique experiences as practicing traceurs - and we know a thing or two about how to move!

  • Standalone FMS: $30 (half-hour appointment)
